Learn French to work

Learn French to work

Professional French courses for newcomers — Ukrainians, Russian speakers and all new arrivals — who want a stable job in France and a successful integration.

French that is useful from day one.

You do not need perfect French to work in France. You need to understand instructions, safety rules, your team leader, and to be able to explain a problem. That is exactly what our courses teach you, with the vocabulary of your future job.

Our trainers speak French, Ukrainian and Russian: when an explanation is hard, it switches to your language, and you move faster.

How does it work?

1

Create your profile

Sign up on jobsaround.fr and complete your CV. An A1 level is recommended, sometimes required, to apply for our job offers with French classes.

2

A job with training

We offer positions in industry (assembly, wiring, welding, logistics…). When a company selects you, French training is organised and funded as part of the recruitment (POEI France Travail, employer).

3

Intensive job-specific French training

Intensive training before you start: instructions, safety, production documents, exchanges with the team. Assessment at the start, A2+ or B1+ target at the end depending on your level.

4

The TEF, then the job

You take the TEF IRN in our Nantes exam centre: an official level, also useful for your residence permit or naturalisation. Then you start your job, with support at the beginning if needed.

The levels.

We follow the European scale (CEFR):

  • A1 — first words, introducing yourself, understanding simple instructions
  • A2 — getting by at work orally: instructions, safety, everyday exchanges
  • B1 — autonomy: understanding work documents, explaining a problem, writing a simple report

In 2026, our trainees gained at least one level in 10 weeks: most started from A1+/A2 and reached A2+/B1, some B1+ and B2.

What our learners say.

I enjoyed the French lessons with the teachers.

The methodology and material were developed perfectly. I am very glad that I had the opportunity to take these courses.

Yana K.

Cool French lessons.

When a teacher explains in my language, learning happens much faster, you learn more material in a certain amount of time. This helped me a lot in integration.

French courses for newcomers in Nantes

Jobs Around is a social and solidarity economy company created in 2022, when the first Ukrainian refugees arrived in France. Since then, we have supported more than 400 people of foreign origin into industrial jobs, combining recruitment, professional French courses and administrative support.

Who are these courses for?

Newcomers and people recently settled in France, whatever their nationality, who are looking for a stable job: Ukrainian temporary protection, refugees, spouses of French nationals, holders of an employee residence permit. Our groups are made up of people who will work in the same sector, so useful vocabulary is learnt together.

Professional or general French?

A general French course teaches you to talk about everything; a professional French course (FOS) first teaches you what you need to work. Both are useful, but when the goal is a job quickly, professional French saves months. The levels reached are the same (A2, B1…) and are certified by the TEF.

How much does it cost?

For the people we support into a job, training is funded by France Travail (POEI) or by the employer: you pay nothing. Our online resources (books, app) are partly free. The TEF, if you take it for a personal procedure, costs €192 (IRN) or €240 (Canada) in our centre.
